A calcified heart.At the forefront:
A carefully constructed wall composed of callouses and scar tissue.
Scabs entwined with half-healed bruises form an intricate web.
Contusions in shades of yellow, green, and aubergine decorate the facade.
But beneath it all,
In the hardest-to-reach crannies,
In the deepest crevices,
Is you.
